Nonyem Abena Ibeneme transforms dried calabash shells into earrings of organic beauty. 'It's a fun and tropical design,' says the Nigerian-born designer. The earrings are crafted with hand-carved calabash rounds, recycled from those not used by calabash sculptors. They are dark orange on the front, and light on the back. The earrings hang from brass hooks.
